A week ago I returned (maudlin) from the most glorious fourteen days visiting friends who feel like family on America’s northwestern coast. Two dreamy weeks spent plunging into cold, dark lakes and walking through lush forests with cameras dangling from our shoulders. Two magnificent weeks sat cross-legged in the yard watching darkness paint the sky dark blue and amber. Two weeks of laughter and adventure, two weeks beyond words. I’m still figuring out how to distil an experience so sweet into language. Instead for now a little film of those fourteen days, in spite of the sheer impossibility of cramming the best two weeks of one’s entire year into a short film. Still, I tried.
* Inspired by my favourite photographer and friend, Ashley Garrels.
** The next few weeks around these parts are sure to be a nostalgic soup of travel photographs and remembrances. You have been warned!
